Description
Cocobolo is a tropical hardwood of the tree Dalbergia retusa from Central America.
Due to its density and hardness, even a large block of the cut wood will produce a clear musical tone if struck. Woodwind instruments, such as clarinets, oboes, and bagpipes, are very successfully made using cocobolo. Indeed, some professional musicians, prefer cocobolo, even more then even the Grenadila wood.
In two words: "Perfect frula". Every professional musician should have one of this category, and if he or she do not have one, then it is the time to purchase one.
This frula is tunable instrument with middle rings possibility to make instrument shorter or longer and in this way to fine tune the frequency. Standard frequency of the instrument is 444Hz, but it can go a little bit higher and lower as well.
The wood is cooked in mixture of the olive oil and beeswax, and in this way the protection of the wood is done. It is besides this treated with propolis. Rings of the frula are made of stainless steel.
